About Yoga Trapeze & Aerial Yoga Ceiling Hooks

Yoga Trapeze Ceiling Hooks are permanent fixtures attached to your ceiling that can be used to hang a yoga swing/yoga hammock, yoga trapeze, aerial silks or other aerial fitness equipment.

They are usually made from heavy duty galvanized steel and are designed to hold a lot of weight. It’s perfectly safe to use a yoga swing that’s suspended from ceiling hooks if they’re installed correctly. That’s where we’re here to help!

Different Types of Beams

Before you even start looking at which yoga trapeze ceiling hooks to buy, you need to determine what type of beam you want to hang it from.

Exposed Beams

Exposed beams are one of the best ways to hang an aerial yoga swing, especially if it’s a porch beam or room beam where you can hook the straps or daisy chain connectors over the top, attach a carabiner and you’re done!

i-Beam

Steel i-Beams are the shape of the capital letter ‘I’ when you look at it length-ways. These are also very useful for hanging aerial equipment with a clamp that’s specially designed for use with an i-Beam!

Wooden Beams

These are the most common types of beams found in homes across North America and Europe. They’re most likely concealed beneath the plasterboard on the ceiling. However, a device called a stud detector can detect where they are, so you know where to drill, unless you have access to the roof space or space between floors, this is your best option.

Concrete Beams

Concrete beams are a bit more complicated, they require different bolts (anchors) and a very powerful drill. If your ceilings are concrete, then you may need a handyman or professional to help you install your yoga trapeze ceiling hooks!

3 Replies to “Yoga Trapeze Ceiling Hooks – Everything you Need to Know

    1. Hi there, thanks for commenting! It needs to be hung far enough away from the wall for you to extend your body using the swing. This can be a challenge in smaller rooms, but you need to avoid hitting the wall during your practice!

  1. Does it matter if my ceiling is sloped? The room I’d like to hang our swing in has a vaulted ceiling, and I’m nervous about that making a difference in these hooks.
